Itineraries of Friends found in the garbage were snapped up at auction by a huge fan of the iconic television series. They submitted drafts of two episodes from the end of the fourth season, which aired in 1998, which took place in London.
The buyer, whose name was not revealed, made his bid online. He offered 22 thousand pounds for the scripts (about R $ 136 thousand). With commissions, the final price paid reached £28,864 (R$178,608).
The scripts came from the first and second parts of the double episode “The One with Ross’s Wedding”. This is one of the best moments of the series, when Ross (David Schwimmer) ends up calling his girlfriend, Emily, Rachel (Jennifer Aniston) at the altar.
The auction house said it could not specify who they belonged to, but that it must have been someone from the series’ cast or crew.
The seller, also undisclosed, said only that he forgot he had left this material in a drawer, where he recently found it while cleaning. He said he believed the script “deserved to belong to a huge Friends fan.”
Originally broadcast between 1994 and 2004, Friends it had ten seasons. All are available to stream on HBO Max.
