Before or after Thanos: When does the Echo series take place in the Marvel timeline?

Gone are the days when a university degree was necessary to understand the timeline of the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies and series. The superhero franchise studios are launching Echo the Marvel Spotlight label, designed to offer productions unrelated to the narrative continuity of the saga’s mainstays.

Thus, it is not necessary to have seen the latest series – Loki, Secret Invasion or She-Hulk – to appreciate the adventures of this character who entered the Hawkeye series.

The show’s first episode also covers Echo’s entire history, offering a complete overview for viewers who haven’t seen Hawkeye, or the series that spawned from the Daredevil universe.

“Post-Thanos” series

Because the other feature of the Echo is the arrival of Netflix series (Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Punisher, etc.) into the official canon of the Marvel franchise. The blind hero, played by Charlie Cox, also appears in Echo, while the Kingpin (Vincent D’Onofrio) also returns to the franchise.

Although it is not directly related to other Marvel productions, it should still be noted that the Echo series The action takes place mainly in the years after the Avengers defeat Thanos.

Flashback scenes take place up to now, but also in the years between the events of Infinity War and Endgame, when Hawkeye was acting as the ruthless vigilante Ronin. During this dark period, the latter especially killed Eko’s father in front of him.

Follows ideas

Thanos’ name is not mentioned in the series, and we also find no trace of Kang’s menacing shadow (Avengers 5’s new big bad is no longer guaranteed, after the recent firing of his interpreter Jonathan Majors).

On the other hand, the series offers a bigger role for the Kingpin, as suggested by the program’s post-credits scene, which is a direct link to the upcoming series Daredevil: Born Again…

Five episodes of Echo are now available exclusively on Disney+.
