Mark Ruffalo revealed that he was afraid before recording sex scenes in Poor Creaturesnew film by Yorgos Lanthimos starring Emma Stonewith whom the director had already worked in The favorite2018.
“[Pensei:] ‘Am I too old to do this kind of thing? Does anyone really want to see this?'”recalled the actor in an interview with Perfect Magazine [via People]. In the movie, Ruffalo plays the lawyer Duncan Wedderburnwho ends up falling in love with Bella Baxtercharacter from Emma Stoneand takes her to see the world.
However, after questioning, the actor considered that sexuality was part of the character and should be shown: “I feel like we’re living in a bit of a prudish time for movies”he said. “Sexuality is so deeply tied to a character’s psychology. And it should be explored in that sense as well.”
Poor Creatures is based on the book of the same name written by Alasdair Gray and released in 1992. Lanthimos directs the film from the script by Tony McNamara, with whom the filmmaker worked The favoriteand which still has the long Cruella (2021) and the series Doctor Doctor (2016-2021) and The Great (2020-2023) on the curriculum.
The film’s cast, which premieres on February 1, 2024 in Brazilian cinemas, it still has Ramy Youssef (Ramy), Vicki Pepperdine (Magic Mike: The Last Dance), Hanna Schygulla (Peter von Kant), Jerrod Carmichael (The Carmichael Show), Margaret Qualley (maid), Kathryn Hunter (Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix) It is Christopher Abbott (The Crowded Room).
