The American platform Peacock has released the first teaser of “They / Them”, horror with Kevin Bacon (“City on a Hill”). The production belongs to the slasher subgenre of masked serial killers, but the religious fanaticism also fuels the horror of the preview, set in a “gay healing” camp.
In the plot, Bacon plays the director of a conversion therapy center dedicated to the “healing” of LGBTQIA + teens, who clashes with Jordan, a non-binary teenager who has made a pact with his parents to legally emancipate himself after attending the camp. . As Jordan and his companions rebel against the cruel methods of “treatment”, a mysterious string of murders begins to accumulate, forcing young people to investigate the secrets of the place.
The cast also includes Theo Germaine (“The Politician”) as Jordan, as well as Carrie Preston (“True Blood”), Anna Chlumsky (“Veep”), Quei Tann (“Dear White People”), Austin Crute (” Thieves “.”)), Monique Kim (“Dirty Beautiful”), Anna Lore (“All American”), Cooper Koch (“Power Book II: Ghost”) and Darwin del Fabro (“Dangerous Liaisons”).
“They / They” marks writer John Logan’s directorial debut (from “007: Operation Skyfall”, “Gladiator” and “Penny Dreadful” series). He also writes the screenplay for the film, produced by horror company Blumhouse Productions, responsible for “Get Out”, “Us”, “Paranormal Activity” and “The Purge”.
