Brazil arrives in Venezuela for the Pre-Olympics


Current two-time Olympic champions, the Brazilian team takes another step towards another Olympic gold for Brazil

The Brazilian team has taken another step towards the Paris 2024 Olympics. This Wednesday (17/1), Brazil landed in Caracas, Venezuela, where the pre-Olympic competition will take place. After completing the training on Tuesday morning in Granja Comary, the delegation embarked in the afternoon for Sao Paulo and, the following morning, left for the Venezuelan capital.

Brazil is part of Group A of the first phase, together with Venezuela, Colombia, Bolivia and Ecuador. The debut of the team led by Ramon Menezes will be on the 23rd, against Bolivia. Then, on the 26th, they will face Colombia.

Brazil has won the last two Olympics

The third match will be against Ecuador on January 29th. Closing out the group stage, the Brazilian team will face the hosts Venezuelan on February 1st. All matches will take place at the BrĂ­gido Iriarte Stadium, in Caracas.

Expectations, undeniably, are high regarding the performance of the pre-Olympic team. After many years of waiting and frustration, Brazil is the current two-time Olympic champion. A won its first gold on home soil, in 2016 and finally repeated the feat in 2021, at the Tokyo Games.
