Arriving in Plus belle la vie in 2009, the character of Barbara, played by Léa François, was one of France 3’s audience favourites, especially thanks to her relationship with Abdel, played by the late Marwan Beren.
In the series finale, which aired on November 18, 2022 on TF1, Barbara was shocked to learn that she was pregnant with Abdel’s child. Unfortunately, the latter was ready to marry his new lover.
After many adventures, the young woman finally confesses her feelings to Abdel, not for the same occasion, revealing to him that he is the father of her child. Then they decided to get married and start a future family.
When the return of Plus belle la vie was announced, Léa François and Marvan Beren were part of the cast of the series. According to rumors, the Barbara/Abdel couple had to occupy a large place even in the first intrigues.
Unfortunately, the actor’s death last October decided otherwise and forced the production to change plans.
Now, as a single mother, we find Barbara. While Abdel’s character was mentioned in the first episode, we don’t yet know what happened to him during this gap year.

Will Barbara find love again?
The tragic disappearance of Marwan Beren was not easy for Léa Francois. “it was difficult to pass“- confided the transferred actor. “I will say it briefly, because it is still difficult for me. But he changed a lot. Both from a game point of view and from a people point of view.”
With the disappearance of the character, the question arises whether Barbara will be able to move on and start a life with someone else. For Lea Francois, the answer to this question is clear: “I hope not.”
“I think there is a lot of modesty around this topic at the moment– he explained to our microphone.And yet, I can’t play things like that as if the event didn’t exist. There is still a period of mourning. It is very difficult, but I think it takes time and we will get it.”
“Barbara currently runs a maternity unit and a restaurant. But it is certain that this disappearance is very heavy for me personally. I think that will definitely be distilled a little bit in Barbara’s character..”
