As the Reacher series prepares to wrap up its 2 seasons, let’s go back a bit. This new season was an opportunity to introduce new characters, new cases and new environments. Among the new faces is Shane Langston, played by Robert Patrick, and of course he leads the villains of season two.
Robert Patrick has been a household name for decades, but movie fans remember him best for his role as the T-1000 in Terminator 2: Judgment Day. And, fun fact, an easter egg sneaks into the first episode of Season 2. But did you notice this?
What is a terminator easter egg?
At the beginning of the second season, Jack Reacher (Alan Ritchson) receives a coded message informing him that members of his former army unit, the 110th MP Special Investigations Unit, are being mysteriously and brutally murdered one after another.
Raised from the life of a drifter, Reacher reunites with three of his former teammates – Frances Niggle (Maria Stan), Carla Dixon (Serinda Swann) and David O’Donnell (Sean Sipos) – as members of his family. They begin an investigation when two other former members of their unit are also killed.
All clues lead to a New Age military defense company and its evil boss, Shane Langston. Shortly after Reacher and Niggle arrive in New York, Langston assigns his underling, Trevor Saropian (Joris Jarsky), to monitor them.
Apparently, Langston and his accomplices already knew that ex-military police officers would be investigating the murders.
When Saropian reports to Langston, he informs his boss that Niggle has checked into the hotel under the name “Sarah Connor” while Reacher is occupying an adjoining room under the name “Starlin Castro”.
Langston points out that Starlin Castro is the name of a baseball player who played for the Yankees, as Richer is a baseball fan and likes to use players’ names for pseudonyms, especially when referring to himself. Check in at the hotel.
When Saropian asks him:And who is Sarah Connor?Langston bluntly replies:I do not care ****.“So here’s a fun Terminator reference, especially coming from Robert Patrick, as he played the T-1000 that chased Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton) in the second film of the franchise.
But I assure you, Robert Patrick’s character in Reacher is not an android!
