She has already had a real Taylor Swift night and started the ‘Supertour’, the biggest tour of her career, this Saturday, the 20th, filling the Allianz Parque, in Sao Paulo.
The singer separated his performance into four acts, divided into the elements earth, air, water and fire, representing his four albums: Wolves, Anti hero, Pirate AND Super. Despite this, songs from the albums were mixed in all parts of the performance. Jão sang 14 tracks from his most recent work and totaled 28 songs in the setlist in the 2-hour show.

The show begins before it even begins. Half an hour before the show, Francine, one of Jão’s backup singers, appears on the screen and offers two songs as a prize. The one that generated the most noise from the audience would be included in the evening’s lineup. In the middle Sad forever AND Here, fans preferred the former. In a strategy like surprise songs by Taylor, Jão has to reproduce its dynamics throughout the entire tour to include, in each show, a different song in the script.

The singer became emotional at several points during the performance. “This is a great achievement for my career, but above all an achievement for us. Thank you for believing in me. This show is a celebration of who we are,” he thanked him.

Still a little stuck at the beginning, attentive to the calculated movements of the premiere of his new show, Jão begins to loosen up once and for all when the bubblegum melodies of Immature AND Game Boy come on stage.
São Paulo is not Jão’s hometown, but he is practically a citizen of São Paulo. Since he left Américo Brasiliense to study advertising at USP and then dedicated himself to music, he is present in his lyrics and received a special mention in the show, with São Paulo, 2015.
In September, Jão had already given a preview of what the new tour would be like during his show at The Town. The same white dragon seen at the festival was on stage this Saturday.
Rapid increase
His career on stage is truly meteoric. In 2019, after releasing his first two studio albums, Lobos and Anti-Herói, Jão has already consolidated an interesting fan base and started playing on the radio. The audience was still discreet. That year, in the same Sao Paulo where his biggest tour begins today, he sang in front of 4 thousand people at Áudio, a well-known music venue in the western area.
The turning point was his third album, Pirata, released in 2021, and the hit Idiota, which became a single at the beginning of the following year. In March 2022, she filled the secondary stage at Lollapalooza and at the end of that year, in a free show for 50,000 spectators at Anhangabaú, she announced: “Next year there will be a tour at Allianz Parque.”
The tour was a bit delayed and didn’t arrive until 2024, after the release of their fourth album, Super. But it has arrived and, after Sao Paulo, it will travel to 13 other cities over the course of the year.
