Tonight on TV: You probably haven’t seen this sci-fi war movie, but it still stars a Guardians of the Galaxy star!

Released in the summer of 2021 on the Prime Video service, where it met with huge success, the SF blockbuster The Tomorrow War airs this Sunday evening on TF1. If you’re into time travel, action and Chris Pratt, then this is just the movie you need to end your weekend in style!

The beginning of The Tomorrow War, a film that echoes the absolute classic of science fiction, shows a stunned world when a group of travelers arrives from the future – 2051 to be exact – to deliver an urgent message: thirty years from now, humanity. Lose the global war against a deadly species of aliens who are coming to destroy our civilization.

The only way to survive this alien attack is to transport soldiers and civilians from the present world thirty years from now to fight against this alien invasion. Among the newcomers is Dan Forrester (Chris Pratt), a father and high school teacher, is determined to save the world for his daughter’s future. To do this, he teams up with a brilliant scientist and his father to rewrite the planet’s future.

The Tomorrow War is the first live-action film from Chris McKay, who directed The Lego Batman Movie as well as several episodes of the hit series Robot Chicken, and who has since directed the horror comedy Renfield with Nicolas Cage and Nicholas Hoult.

With The Tomorrow War, Chris Pratt serves as an executive producer on a feature film for the first time in his career. And if the plot of the film reminds you a little of Terminator, except that it is a trip to the future and not the past, it is certainly not a coincidence, because the star of the Guardians of the Galaxy is none other than the son. – Son-in-law… of Arnold Schwarzenegger!

In closing, note that if you enjoyed The Tomorrow War, we have good news for you: a sequel is in the works!

Tonight on TF1 at 21:10.
