Pedro Raul is not having a great moment in Toluca and the management likes the name of the center forward; The Mexicans bought him for R$24 million
Corinthians have advanced negotiations with Mexican Toluca to sign striker Pedro Raul. The player, who doesn’t get along very well with the Mexican team, has been interested in Timão for a few weeks and the management is studying a good offer to buy him permanently. The journalist César Luis Merlo gave the information.
Pedro Raul, 27, has been in Mexico since the middle of last year. At the time Toluca bought it from Vasco, for R$24 million. It is therefore unlikely that Timão will spend a lower amount to purchase the economic rights of the center forward. In Mexico he scored only four goals in 19 games. In fact, he was a starter on ten of the occasions he came onto the pitch.
Revealed by Cruzeiro-RS, Pedro Raul also passed through Aimoré, Vitória de Guimarães, from Portugal, Atlético Goianiense, Botafogo, Kashiwa Reysol, from Japan, Juarez, from Mexico, and Goiás, before arriving at Vasco. With the Emerald team, he enjoyed his best season in 2022, scoring 26 goals in 50 games and finishing the Brasileirão as overall runner-up.
If Corinthians does indeed sign Pedro Raul, they will have an additional option for the center forward position. Currently the principal is Yuri Alberto, absolute leader in the sector. With the board in negotiations with a possible new reinforcement, Timão takes the field this Wednesday (24), against Ituano, away from home, in the second round of the Paulistão.
