Netflix: Griselda’s family wants to block the release of the series with Sofia Vergara

She was one of the most famous drug traffickers in the world, nicknamed the Black Widow, and was considered the mentor of Pablo Escobar. Griselda Blanco – murdered in 2012 – is the subject of a fictional TV series produced and hosted by actress Sofia Vergara.

The trafficker’s family, and especially his son Michael Corleone Blanco, suit streaming platform and actor to see their image without authorization. The complaint states that the Blanco clan wants to prevent the release of the program – expected this Thursday, January 25.

Was there no consultation with family members?

Michael Corleone Blanco states that Netflix has indeed expressed a desire to adapt Griselda’s life into a series, but that no family members were consulted for the script, which they say will be based on, “Anecdotes shared by witnesses“.

Sofia Vergara, who works as an actress and producer, is one of seven people affected by the lawsuit along with Netflix and agency Latin World Entertainment Holdings, LLC.
