“Spy Kids”: Netflix announces the restart of the cast

Netflix has announced the actors who will form the main family of the “Spy Kids” reboot, and this includes Zachary Levy from “Shazam!”.

The information was initially released by Netflix, which reported that Gina Rodriguez and Zachary Levi will play the parents of the “Spy Kids,” who will be played by Everly Carganilla and Connor Esterson.

The new film “takes place after the children of the world’s best secret agents unknowingly help a powerful game developer free a computer virus that gives them control of all technology.” Thus, children end up becoming little spies and need to save their parents and the whole world.

Levi is best known for his role as a DC superhero in Warner Bros. “Shazam!”, And in the future sequel, “Shazam! Fury of the Gods, ”which arrives in December. On the other hand, Gina Rodriguez is mainly known for the CW series “Jane the Virgin” and “Scooby! O Filme” and “Carmen Sandiego”, also from Netflix.

The reboot was recently announced, with Robert Rodriguez tied to the project as writer and director. Subsequently, it was announced that “Spy Kids” will be a Netflix exclusive movie.

The original “Spy Kids” arrived in 2001, with Antonio Banderas and Carla Gugino as a retired spy couple who are captured. Their children, played by Alexa Vega and Daryl Sabara, have taken on the role of spies to save their parents.

The film was a critical and commercial success and became a franchise, earning several sequels over the next decade.

Restarting Spy Kids doesn’t have a release date yet.
