Netflix has announced the premiere of the miniseries “Um Dia” for February 8, a production adapted from the book of the same name by David Nicholls. In the novel, the main characters get involved after graduation, and what is supposed to be just a one-night stand ends up becoming the start of a friendship (or romance?) that will last for many years to come , full of meetings and disagreements. . . Young Emma Morley (Ambika Mod) and Dexter Mayhew (Leo Woodall) have known each other for a long time because they have mutual friends, but they have never had reason to spend much time alone with each other. After graduation, they both accompany their friends to go out and party, but Emma and Dexter end up alone.
At Emma’s apartment, they decide to have a one-night stand, as they both wanted to follow very different paths to cross paths again. Despite the awkward goodbye the next morning, Emma and Dex are condemned to a long routine of meetings and falls, unable to stay away from each other.
They start different relationships, embark on new careers, travel across cities and countries, but always end up together somewhere – whether to have a nice drink or to mix up their relationship and treat each other in a more romantic way.
“Um Dia” is the portrait of a story of love and friendship that develops little by little, over the years, until it brings together two different people in the same space of time. While some say that love takes time to blossom, in this story it goes through different phases and moods until it matures and finds a comfortable place in Emma and Dex’s hearts.
The miniseries will premiere on February 8 on the Netflix streaming system. The cast also includes names like Essie Davis, Amber Grappy, Tim McInnerny and John MacMillian.
