The first 24 fighters for the new game have already been announced
This past weekend, Bandai Namco and developer Spike Chunsoft released a new trailer for Dragon Ball: Sparks! Zero. The video focuses on the battle between Goku and Vegeta.
At the end of the trailer, it seems, we have confirmation that the game will have 164 playable characters, with different versions of Goku and Vegeta, for example.
Bandai Namco also provided a list with the top 24 fighters from which players can choose:

Developed by the creators of the Budokai Tenkaichi games, Sparking! Zero will use Unreal Engine 5 to bring new features and improvements to arena fighting games only possible on current platforms.
