‘I thought I was in Ken Survivor’: Should you watch Badland Hunters, the best movie on Netflix?

After a devastating earthquake transforms Seoul into hostile territory, an intrepid hunter sets out to rescue a teenager infatuated with a mad doctor. This is a synopsis of Badland Hunters, the movie that is currently number one on Netflix’s weekly chart. A surprise when we know that the platform did not advertise around this South Korean production. But the subscribers’ appetite for the post-apocalyptic genre was enough to drive them to this wonderful place.

ultra violent

Not recommended for under 16s on the platform, Badland Hunters doesn’t skimp on the violence, as evidenced by the first reviews posted on the film’s page. With an above-average rating of 2.7/5, it didn’t really win over audiences despite a production directed by Heo Myung Haeng, a former stuntman who notably worked on Old Boy (2003). The only positive point highlighted in the reviews is the casting of the brilliant Dong-seok Ma, who was already under attack by zombies in Last Train to Busan.

“I believe that the South Koreans are masters of offering exotic visual effects and fighting against the background of the apocalypse in the survival horror mode, but they still have a way to go to tell us an interesting and interesting story. Worked in depth.” (Reader H)

“A chilling post-apocalyptic mad scientist story with no surprises. The humor is poorly balanced and the fight scenes lack anything original. There is no doubt that this film will be quickly forgotten. “ (Nico 243)

“A star that will undoubtedly fuel the final burst of action and violence, in the best of apocalyptic zombie movies, with a highly bloody and swirling assault in its isolated setting that finally escapes its sad dust and artificiality.” A big, ill-calibrated mess, a kind of horror fair that only makes us appreciate Dong-seok Maa’s presence. Totally undeserved. ” (dick ap prale)

Mad scientist

“I thought I was in Ken Survivor, with a faction of a mad scientist who longs for his people and who experiments on children and a team of saviors who crush the bad guys, well-done action scenes, some long, corny stories. Rainy Sunday to see.” (Crisane Vegeta)

“The action sequences are well-choreographed and executed, but they’re also over-the-top and gratuitous. This feature film focuses on horrific violence, never focusing on the emotional consequences of that violence.” (salinger)

If you’re looking for fun (without being embarrassing), action, humor, and a post-apocalyptic atmosphere, then Badland Hunters is for you. For others, move on or watch a K-drama that will be of much better quality.
