This Saturday (3), another UFC event marked the night in Las Vegas, with two middleweights, Roman Dolidze and Nassourdine Imamov, taking part in the main duel of the evening.
In a hotly contested fight, Imamov emerged victorious in the main event, with a card that also saw Renato Moicano win and the Brazilians put on a show in the octagon set up at APEX.
Fight
It was the Frenchman who started the fight with the advantage, trying to create chances and weaken the attacks of Dolidze, who went into the clinch to try something but, as soon as the blow returned, he took two beautiful blows from Imamov, who had the great fortune of winning at the end of the first round, landing a beautiful right hand that knocked the Georgian to the ground and, already on the ground, taking his shoulders and attempting, unsuccessfully, an armbar.
The Georgian responded well in the second round, putting himself more on the attack at the beginning and then entering the clinch again to attempt the takedown, with a good defense from Imamov, who became more offensive in the final part of the round. And he would be the most dominant early in the third, being more aggressive and landing good shots.
Dolidze went for the takeover, but failed to work on the takedown, with Imamov putting up good defense and responding well on the feet. Everything continues the same way in the fourth round, with Dolidze failing to defeat the Frenchman and Imamov complicating the Georgian’s life with his shots. Until the moment when an apparently illegal knee from the Frenchman almost complicated things for the latter.
The doctor went to the octagon and took care of Dolidze, who managed to stay in the fight. When the latter returned, a good blow from the Georgian finally put the fight to the ground, but nothing was achieved there and the duel returned to victory, even without much movement on the part of both fighters.
In the fifth round, the fight had more solo moments and Dolidze even attempted a kimura. However, the pace of the fight followed the same rhythm as the previous rounds, with both fighters trying to do something and also landing good shots. In the end, despite losing a point in the fourth round, Imamov was declared the winner by majority decision, this being his fifth in the UFC.
Renato Moicano wages ‘war’ against the American and wins
Renato Moicano seems really intent on boosting morale with the UFC. The Brazilian was in the co-main event of the evening, facing American Drew Dober, and had a high-octane fight with plenty of blood in the APEX Octagon.
Dober started the fight well and also took well with his hands, with a nice right hand, but the Brazilian managed to ground the fight and worked the ground well and tapped. Moicano’s good grappling rhythm continued in the second round, with two good takedowns, but he suffered in the final part of this one when, after being knocked down, he found himself on the receiving end of several punches from the American.
In the third round, Dober proved to be quite dominant in his striking, but was soon taken down again by Moicano, with the fight ending on the ground and the Brazilian controlling the fight well to secure the victory.

There were three other Brazilian representatives at UFC Vegas 85, two of them facing each other. Natália Silva and Vivi Araújo faced off in a very competitive duel, with Vivi trying to take down Natália and prevent the Minas Gerais native from using her strikes. The duel saw Natália manage to best free herself from Brasiliaense’s takedown attacks and manage the pace on her feet until she achieved her fifth consecutive victory.
Luana Dread faced the Lithuanian Julija Stoliarenko, who gave the Brazilian a hard time, especially when she fought on the ground. Luana was better at striking and chased the Lithuanian, hitting hard and managing to get rid of her rival’s takedown attempts. In the third round, the Brazilian was knocked down and almost trapped in a triangle, but she broke free and took advantage of the American’s carelessness to throw punches in the crucifix position and win the duel.
