Rapper Killer Mike was handcuffed and escorted by Los Angeles police after winning three awards at the Grammy Awards ceremony, which took place at the Crypto Arena last Sunday (4/2). The information comes from The Hollywood Reporter website.
The police station representative said Mike was arrested for violent behavior after being involved in a fight around 4 p.m. The rapper, who calls himself Michael Render, was released on bail at 8.37pm (local time), but is due to appear in court in Los Angeles on February 29.
Killer Mike’s office had no comment on the mix-up.
Grammy Awards
Killer Mike won Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance for “Scientists & Engineers,” a single featuring Andre 3000, Future and Eryn Allen Kane. Furthermore, he won a statuette in the Best Rap Album category with the album “Michael”. After receiving his third award, he shouted “Sweep! Atlanta, it’s a sweep”, which can be translated as “sweep”.
“The only thing that limits your age is not being honest about yourself or what you’re doing,” Mike said backstage. “At 20 I thought it was cool to be a drug dealer. At 40 I started living with remorse for the things I had done. At 45 I started rapping about it. At 48 I stand here as a man full of compassion and empathy for the things I’ve done.”
Rapper Killer Mike was just arrested and left the Grammys in handcuffs after winning 3 Grammys that night, including Best Rap Album.
