The Bride’s Father became the original movie HBO Max with the highest audience on purple streaming, according to information from deadline. The movie starring Andy Garcia (Billy Herrera) and Adria Arjona (Sofia Herrera) reached the top of the platform’s productions podium – in terms of audience – worldwide during the first four post-launch.
The film was released on June 16, 2022, three days before Father’s Day in the United States – and the date was celebrated with The Bride’s Father by several subscribers HBO Max. It is worth remembering how, in Mexico, the film was among the 10 most viewed titles on streaming.
The Bride’s Father is based on the book of the same name by Edward Streeter, released in 1949, and was the third adaptation. The plot follows Billy and the wife, Ingrid (Gloria Estefan), who decide to separate, but find out how their daughter Sofia is engaged and about to be officially married. Because of this, the ex-couple decides to keep their divorce a secret till date.
