The players’ complaints put the Spaniard’s continuity at the club at risk
PSG players are dissatisfied with coach Luis Enrique’s working method and an elimination from the UEFA Champions League could put the coach’s job at risk, according to French newspaper ‘L’Equipe’.
The publication reports that in recent weeks the players of the French club have complained above all about their physical condition. Some athletes have even hired private fitness trainers for additional training sessions.
The players’ complaints, however, would only be the tip of the iceberg. This is because, in addition to training, the coach’s playing style would also cause discontent in the Paris squad.
Again according to “L’Équipe”, this dissatisfaction calls into question Luis Enrique’s continuity in the French club. The team’s hegemony in the national championship makes the Champions League the main objective of the season, as well as the only result that can guarantee the Spanish coach’s permanence also next season.
Despite the complaints, PSG have achieved results this season. In the French championship, Luis Enrique’s team is the leader, with 47 points obtained in 20 games – the difference compared to the second-placed team is eight points; in the French Cup the team will face Brest in the round of 16; and in the Champions League they face Real Sociedad, also in the round of 16.
Paris Saint-Germain’s next match will take place this Wednesday (7), at 5.10pm (Brasilia time), against Brest, in the French Cup, at the Parque dos Príncipes.
