The joint sports streaming platform from Disney, Fox and Warner Bros. Discovery will retail for more than $40 a month (around R$200). The information was released by CNBC.
According to Tuesday’s announcement, the three media giants are preparing to launch a sports streaming service in the United States between September and November, during autumn in the Northern Hemisphere. The companies aim to capture the attention of younger viewers who are no longer tuned into traditional television.
Although it has not yet been revealed, an executive will be appointed to lead the initiative, according to CNBC. The service, which is not expected to arrive in Brazil, is expected to serve as an alternative to YouTube TV for subscribers only interested in sports coverage.
Disney, Fox and Warner Bros. Discovery did not respond to Reuters requests for comment on the alleged monthly streaming price.
