Corolla Cross and Etios help increase the brand’s numbers; compact had only eight months of production
Toyota ended 2023 as the leader in vehicle export volume in Brazil. The brand shipped 82,419 units to other countries during the year.
The exported products were Etios, Yaris and Corolla Cross, produced in the Sorocaba (SP) plant, in addition to the Corolla sedan, produced in Indaiatuba (SP).
In fact, Etio stopped being produced in Brazil on August 31st. The model numbers refer to the period between January and the end of production, which amounted to 22,030 units. As of 2021, the Etios is no longer sold on the Brazilian market. Production was aimed precisely at export.
The main export was the Corolla Cross, with 31,700 units.
Last year, 40% of Toyota’s domestic production was destined for Latin American and Caribbean countries.
In total, Toyota units produced 212,385 units produced in 2023, 155,411 at the Sorocaba plant and 56,974 at Indaiatuba. These numbers include units destined for the Brazilian market.
