Homage to Joelma
The costume chosen by Pabllo to pull the block was Joelma, the singer of the Calypso Band. Her look was a reproduction of the one used by the woman from Pará in the DVD “Banda Calypso na Amazônia”, released in 2005. According to Vittar, the choice was made due to the influence Joelma has on her career as an artist.
Pabllo will release the album Batidão Tropical vol. 2 this year, and has already started promoting the album this carnival. According to the singer, the album brings sounds from the North and Northeast of Brazil, such as calypso, tecnobrega and tecnomelody.
On social media, Pabllo shared photos of the costume and was praised by Joelma herself.

The Bloco da Pabllo took to the streets of São Paulo around 2pm this Sunday the 11th, about an hour late. The trio walked the avenues of the Ibirapuera region and at times generated disorder. The protesters needed to receive assistance from the firefighters.
Pabllo had to interrupt the show several times to ask the audience to calm down and also to scold the revelers who climbed into the chemical toilets. “You can get hurt and the last thing I want is for you to leave my block hurt. I want you to leave here well eaten,” he joked.
The show was scheduled to end at 7pm, but the singer chose to end at 5.30pm due to safety recommendations.
