Streaming: The greatest David Lynch movies are finally available

He is one of the most mysterious and rare filmmakers of Hollywood cinema. It’s been 18 years since David Lynch last directed a new film. The last, Inland Empire with Laura Dern, dates back to 2006. The director made a name for himself on the small screen again in 2017 with the critically acclaimed third season of Twin Peaks. Since then, David Lynch has released several short films and Post funny videos on his social networks.

Eight movies are available

If the cinephile in you is missing the “Lynch” quirk, streaming platform MUBI – which works hard for heritage cinema – offers an entire cycle dedicated to the director. As of this Monday, February 12, eight films join the catalog.

The program includes his first feature, Eraserhead, a black-and-white horror film with chilling imagery; The Elephant Man, a Joseph Merrick biopic starring John Hart and Anthony Hopkins; Dune, his sci-fi epic long before Denis Villeneuve; A true story, one of the director’s most unknown films; the hallucinatory thriller Lost Highway and Inland Empire, his last film.

How do you do a David Lynch cycle without Twin Peaks? MUBI offers the film adaptation of the series, the terrifying Fire Walk With Me, as well as The Missing Pieces, which is nothing more than a montage of cut or extended scenes from the aforementioned film.

The David Lynch Cycle is available on MUBI.
