La Tribu on TF1: How to work with young children? Alix Poisson and Jonathan Zakai tell us everything

In La Tribu, TF1’s new family series, Alix Poisson and Jonathan Zakai play a couple in their fifties who have the difficult task of bringing their families together under the same roof.

For the occasion, the two actors interacted with a number of children with whom they were able to develop a wonderful relationship that allowed them to bring their characters to life.

How were the children chosen?

At a press briefing organized as part of the La Rochelle Arts Festival, Alix Poisson and Jonathan Zakai spoke about their experience with these young actors and especially the selection of these talented young actors.

The kids obviously passed the castings and testsAlix Poisson confided. “But above all, it was the talent of Okinawa, the casting director, that changed everything. He knew how to identify actors who would have chemistry between them.

And for Jonathan Zakai, this casting was fruitful. In fact, he confided in the same press briefing that the young actors had personalities that oddly suited their characters.

What’s funny is that the kids were yelling at each other offstage like the kids in the show. They were so well suited that they fit their characters“, he explained.

Actors recall their experience

Working with children brings its share of challenges for any actor, especially when there are many of them. Thus, Alix Poisson and Jonathan Zakai had to create an alchemy with Ilan Debrabant (Leo), Esteban Azuara Aimard (Raphael), Capuchin Malar (Morg) and Joey Souke (Mila).

For this, they had to adapt their younger colleagues. “When I shoot with children, I always start from the principle that it is up to us to adapt to them“, he confided. “For example, we had to adapt to Joy Souque, who plays little Mila. The actor is 7 years old. “

So during the first take, he could think of a lot of things, so you have to be ready to go back. And sometimes there were times when he was tired because he is only 7 years old. We will never know.

In turn, Jonathan Zakai explained in an interview with AlloCiné that the work with the children’s group went very well. “It could have been difficult to manage, but they were so professional and happy to play the game that it went really well“, he confided before adding:It was fun. It was fun developing them.
