Marquinhos arrives at Tricolor on loan from Arsenal; The contract, however, includes a purchase option
Fluminense should soon announce the purchase of the striker Marquinhos. After all, he has already arrived in Brazil and is expected at coach Carlos Castilho this Wednesday (13th) to sign the contract. Therefore, it is now possible to announce the strengthening.
Marquinhos is 20 years old and arrives on loan from Arsenal, England, until the end of this year. However, there is a purchase option at the end of this period. With the European club, the athlete’s contract will last until 2027. He was with the Brazilian team in the pre-Olympic competition. Subsequently he also went to Europe to resolve the bureaucratic issues related to the transfer.
The Gunners signed Marquinhos in June 2022 for a fee of €3.5 million (around R$18 million at the time) from Sao Paulo. Since then, the youngster has played just six games for the London club’s first team, scoring once and providing one assist. The player was even loaned out to Nantes (FRA) and Norwich City, England.
Arsenal will loan Marquinhos as he will not be used during the season. It will then be a similar movement with that of midfielder Andrey Santos, former Vasco, who returned to Chelsea after being unavailable to Nottingham Forest.
In the pre-Olympic competition, the 20-year-old attacker was alongside other Italians such as Alexsander, John Kennedy and Gabriel Pirani. The latter, in fact, played for Fluminense last year.
