Blumhouse has announced that it has decided to postpone the release of M3GAN 2.0, a sequel to the 2022 production, in four months. Previously scheduled for release on January 17, 2025, the film will now only be released on May 16 of the same year.
M3GAN it told the story of Gemma, a roboticist who is forced to finish the prototype of a doll equipped with artificial intelligence: M3GAN (played impeccably by Amie Donald).
Meanwhile, he finds himself responsible for caring for his orphaned niece, Cady (McGraw). So, in an attempt to combine business with pleasure, and help the girl overcome the death of her parents, he gives Cady her technological toy.
Everything changes, however, when the scientist realizes that the doll begins to act as the girl’s guardian, transforming into a machine with its own violent and fatal will.
Success in 2023, M3GAN had a 93% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, innovating the horror genre by combining it with a current theme: artificial intelligence. The film is available in Brazil for purchase or rental on digital platforms. M3GAN 2.0 will be released in theaters in May 2025.
