Simple ingredients for a cake: basic dough
– 200 g unsalted butter + a little to grease the pan.
– 2 cups of sugar
– 4 units of eggs, separated whites and yolks.
– 1 cup(s) of milk in some variations is replaced by another ingredient (or another ingredient of your choice)
– 3 cups (tea) wheat flour + a little to sprinkle the pan.
– salt to taste (pinch)
– 1 tablespoon(s) of chemical yeast
Lemon Cake Ingredients (Homemade Cake – variant 1)
– 1 unit(s) of lemon (juice and zest) – -add the juice to the milk for the dough and the zest at the end of the preparation before incorporating the yeast
Vanilla Cake Ingredients (Homemade Cake – variant 2)
– 1/2 teaspoon(s) of vanilla essence added to the basic dough
Ingredients Orange cake (Homemade cake – variant 3)
– 1 cup(s) of orange juice (replace the milk in the basic dough)
-orange to taste (zest), added at the end, before the yeast
Fruit Juice Cake Ingredients (Homemade Cake – variant 4)
– 1 cup(s) of concentrated fruit juice (replacing milk) added to the basic dough
Ingredients for coconut cake (homemade cake – variation 5)
– 1/2 cup(s) milk (new amount instead of original amount of base dough)
– 100 ml of coconut milk, added to the basic dough
Marble Cake Ingredients (Homemade Cake – variant 6)
– 2 tablespoons of chocolate powder (added to half the mixture)
– 1/2 unit of lemon – zest, added to the other half of the dough
Ingredients for the cheese cake (homemade cake variant 7)
– 100 g of grated standard Minas cheese, add at the end of the preparation of the basic dough, before the yeast.
Guava Cake Ingredients (Homemade cake – variation 8)
– 250 g guava paste, cut into cubes or as desired.

Chocolate Cake Ingredients (Homemade Cake – variant 9)
– 1 cup(s) of chocolate powder (added to the basic mixture)
– 1 unit of lemon – juice – added to milk.
PREPARATION:
- Remove the butter from the fridge 1 hour before to bring it to room temperature.
- Separate all the ingredients and utensils of the recipe, with the respective variant chosen.
- To make a standard recipe, adjust the quantities for 4 people and use a 23cm pan with a hole in the centre.
- Separate the egg yolks and whites into two bowls.
- Sift the wheat flour.
- Grease a mold with butter and sprinkle with flour.
- Preheat the oven to 180°C.
PREPARATION:
Simple cake:
- Check the version of the cake you plan to make. In some of them it will be necessary to replace the milk, check the ingredients.
- If your butter is not at the point of ointment, beat with a wire whisk until it is soft, only then continue, adding the sugar, beating until you obtain a whitish cream.
- Add the egg yolks, one at a time, and continue beating to combine.
- Turn off the mixer and wash the whisk.
- Using a spatula or a whisk, gradually add the flour and milk or its substitutes (depending on the recipe variant), beating until you obtain a smooth cream.
- In another bowl, using a mixer, beat the egg whites with a pinch of salt until a frothy mixture forms.
- Note the other ingredients that will be added to the basic dough depending on the variant.
- Finally, before the egg whites, add the yeast to the dough.
- Then incorporate the egg whites, with circular movements, from the center outwards, taking care to keep the mixture airy.
- If you are preparing the marbled version, divide the dough into two portions. Add the lemon zest to one half and the chocolate powder to the other half. Only then place each one in the mold and mix lightly with a spatula just to “unite” the masses, without mixing.
- In the guava cake version, first place half of the dough in the pan, flour and arrange the guava cubes and then cover with the other half of the dough.
- In the other versions, transfer the dough into the already greased and floured pan.
- Place in the preheated oven at 180°C and cook for about 45 minutes.
Simple cake:
- To check if the cake is cooked, do the toothpick test: insert it into the center of the cake and if it comes out clean, it is ready.
- Remove from the oven, shake the pan slightly to see if the cake loosens.
- Let cool.
FINALIZATION AND ASSEMBLY:
- Turn it simple cake on a plate or table.
- Transfer to serving plate.
- Store at room temperature, covered.
