Dune: part 2 It’s already here! The film premiered this Thursday (15th) in the United Kingdom and has garnered much praise from specialized critics in several countries. The film’s premiere is scheduled for February 29.
“Even more immense than the first, but far more intimate: Denis Villeneuve manages to simplify the book’s most alienating second half into a gripping, action-packed epic,” wrote Inverse editor Hoai-Tran Bui. He also said that the film is a triumph and that Zendaya is the star.
Gregory Ellwood, from The Playlist, ranked Dune: part 2 equally impressive and said that some moments in the script are visionary. Even so, she still gave that basic push: “Very moving ending. A little long? Yes. Did I forget I saw it the next day? Yes. However, it will be huge.
But even the critics do not reach a consensus. For Steven Weintraub, editor in chief of Collider, the film could be longer: “Incredible production. Brilliant score. The entire cast was excellent. My only complaint is that I wish it was longer. I am not joking. The film is 2 hours and 40 minutes (?) and I would be happy to watch it another hour.”
“I was a little torn in the first Dune. Dune: Part 2 is phenomenal. Up there among the best science fiction films I’ve ever seen. I want to build a sandworm,” Uproxx writer Mike Ryan pointed out.
ComicBook.com journalist Brandon Davis was categorical: “Dune: Part 2 is a masterpiece. It’s a stunning and moving film that demands to be seen on the biggest, most immersive screen possible. I liked it. Innovative and exciting.” The information comes from Omelette.
