The defender lets off steam when leaving the field and says that Alvinegro must correct the mistakes. Barboza focuses on the decision against Aurora on Wednesday
Defender Alexander Barboza regretted Botafogo’s defeat against Vasco on Sunday and said the result hurts Alvinegro. After the match, moreover, the Argentine said that losing a classic is bad and that Glorioso must correct his mistakes. The player, however, asked for concentration and attention from the Libertadores.
“It’s a defeat that must hurt us today. We started with a very bad feeling, losing a classic is very bad. It makes us angry, but we have to face it today and, from tomorrow onwards, think about the Libertadores, try to quickly erase what was that match. We did good things, of course, but we also did bad things and unfortunately we lost at home. But football must be worked on, corrected. Let’s see what comes next in this Libertadores match.”, declared Barboza as he came out.
Botafogo preceded Vasco, but in the end lost 4-2: it was the second Juventus defeat in two classics played in the 2024 season.
Now Tiago Nunes’ team turns their attention to the Libertadores, where they will make their debut on Wednesday. Botafogo faces Aurora (BOL), in the second preliminary phase of the Conmebol competition, away from home.
