61 years old, 44 movies, 1 Olympic uniform: When will this action star return to the movies?

In 1990, Tom Cruise was not yet at the top of Hollywood, but he was getting very close. After taking off in Top Gun’s jets, Tony Scott brings it back down to the tarmac for Days of Thunder, an action film set in the world of NASCAR racing.

For a long time, everything indicated that Mission Impossible 8 would be the last opus in the adventure of Ethan Hunt. And Christopher McQuarrie clearly hinted as much. But the director returned to the subject during the release of Dead Reckoning, claiming that he already had ideas for other films.

For his part, Tom Cruise says he wants to follow Harrison Ford’s Indiana Jones model and make Mission Impossibles until he’s 80. Is bluff better to surprise us or a way to make it clear that retirement is impossible for the star?
