Marvel will change the title of “Avengers 5” after the firing of Jonathan Majors

It’s official: Marvel will change the title of the fifth film The Avengerspreviously titled The Kang Dynasty. The film was supposed to feature more of the villain Kang the Conqueror, played by Jonathan Majors, but the actor was fired from the MCU after the guilty verdict for the crimes of assault and harassment against his ex-girlfriend.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Kang’s presence in the film was already being rethought after the film’s release Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, which disappointed at the box office in 2023. Now, with Majors out of Marvel, a radical change in the script seems even more likely. The new title of Avengers 5 has not yet been released.

Who will play Kang in Avengers 5?

Last year, several vehicles reported that Marvel is considering finding another actor to replace Majors in the role of Kang. Names like Colman Domingo, John Boyega, Lakeith Stanfield and John David Washington were among the favorites of the public and the press in the race to replace the villain in the MCU.

Recently, however, rumors have also emerged that the antagonist’s position could be filled Doctor Doom – who, in Marvel comics, is one of the main enemies of the Avengers. So far, however, we still don’t have much information about Kang’s future.

The launch of Avengers 5 is scheduled for May 1, 2026.
