The internet is ablaze with the number of anime offerings on streaming services, like the increasingly popular Anime House. Free and with a large catalog in the category, it attracts many users. But is it legal, is it safe and can it be accessed without risk?
And the answer is no! Animes House is an anime streaming site that is considered pirated. Some people even defend this type of service by saying that pirated sites are better in terms of anime catalogs. But believe me, this offer can cause headaches and even losses. Understand below.
According to Animes House users themselves, the site contains invisible advertisements that open automatically. Others say that the image quality is not always good, but that it is useful for watching anime offline.
First of all, it is not the only case of a non-legalized site, so we inform you that Crunchyroll is the only anime streaming service officially available in Brazil. Crunchyroll offers more than 1,000 titles, approximately 25,000 episodes, and 15,000 hours of the most popular and latest anime. Furthermore, it supports the industry and popularizes the anime sector, with new titles and dubs.
That said, access is at your own risk. But that is not all. Some users suggest not accessing Animes House because the site doesn’t seem to care about the links it places on its page. And keep in mind that some anime websites have been shut down by Brazilian authorities. Anime streaming sites could be shut down after a court summons for piracy.
Operation Souls
In 2023, a major Brazilian anti-piracy operation led to the shutdown of several online anime sites. The operation, called “Operation Animes”, was led by CODA (Content Overseas Distribution Association) and is part of the already well-known “Operation 404”, which aims to combat piracy in the country.
According to the Ministry of Justice, the operation shut down two of the largest anime piracy sites in Brazil. The names of the sites were not revealed. Other anime piracy sites that have been shut down include: Goyabu.com, Animeyabu.com, Animes Vision, BetterAnimes.
The sites may have been shut down due to pressure from the authorities, receiving judicial or unofficial notifications, or simply out of fear of being the next targets.
Anime House is the subject of complaints
The Animes House website is still active, but does not have a valid https or SSL security seal. However, a security seal does not guarantee the reliability of a website, but represents a minimum requirement.
Other user complaints:
Pirate websites can expose data and pose legal risks such as lawsuits, fines, or other punishments. Pirated streaming services can contain viruses (such as spyware and adware) and scams that can cause data loss, corrupt your system, and even carry out identity theft (phishing).
They install viruses on devices, which can spy on digital activity, lock the device until the ransom is paid, or allow hackers to access the device. They can install spam ads, viruses, and malicious software that can obtain personal information.
Pirate sites make money through advertising and malware. They are programmed so that with the first clicks new windows with pop-up advertisements open, artificially inflating your earnings.
Log in safely and legally:
Besides Crunchyroll, which is anime exclusive, you can also find anime options on Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, HBO Max, Globoplay, Star+, Hidive, Tubi, Pluto TV, Looke.
