Bad news for those counting down the days until next month’s release of Mickey 17: Warner Bros. Pictures has delayed the release of Bong Joon-ho’s (Parasite, Snowpiercer: Le Transperceneige) next feature by almost a year.
The sci-fi thriller starring Robert Pattinson, still without a poster, trailer, and just one 32-second teaser, was actually supposed to be released on March 29th. Its release date has been pushed back to 31 January 2025 in the US (and 19 January 2025 here) – ten months later than originally planned.
That delay now benefits Adam Wingard’s Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire , which has pushed its release date back two weeks to take the vacated March 29, 2024 slot in the US (the film will be released on April 3 in France. ).

The reason for this delay? The production of the film was affected by the 2023 Hollywood strikes. Among other changes, it would have required more time in post-production. However, with this new release date comes an IMAX broadcast, which the previous date did not allow. This release will coincide with the Lunar New Year, which is especially celebrated in China and South Korea, the director’s home country.
