Tom Holland will play this huge movie star for the Wonka director

When the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory prequel was being made, two names were being floated to play Willy Wonka: Timothée Chalamet and Tom Holland. If the former wins over the latter (the opposite of what happened with Marvel and Spider-Man Homecoming), the hero of the Uncharted adaptation will still be directed by Paul King.

In the biographical film dedicated to Fred Astaire, the English actor will play in front of the camera of the director of Paddington and Wonka. The project was first announced in 2021 and has since disappeared from the radar. But it is still relevant today.

“We are currently working on the script”Paul King said ComicBook.com. “I’m working on it Lee Hall , who is a very, very, very good author and screenwriter. He knows the era and historical facts very well. And she clearly knows her way to dance. I learned a lot after working with him. But we are looking for a story within the script and hope something comes out. Lets see.”

Tom Holland as the Tap Dance King

So we’ll have to wait a little longer before we see Tom Holland in the shoes of Fred Astaire, king of dancing and star of Hollywood’s golden age of musical comedies, in movies like On the Wings of Dance, Top Hat or The. Enterprising Mr. Petrov. Alongside the very often bubbly Ginger Rogers, her special partner, who we hope to see in the film.

After making Timothée Chalamet sing and dance in Wonka, Paul King will stay in musicals with this Fred Astaire biopic, in which he will be directed by Tom Holland. Before he casts the two actors together in his next film?
