Tomorrow Belongs to Us: ‘Jordan’s Past Resurfaces’… Maxime Leloux Reveals What’s Next for His Character

In the summer of 2021, Tomorrow Belongs to Us, the Russians have gone through many difficult times, the Russians may have to endure the worst ordeal of their lives with the suspicion of murder hanging over the head of Jordan (Maxim Leloux), who was arrested in St. The end of the episode airs this Monday on TF1.

Although he has to adjust to his new surroundings in prison, Jordan will also have to do everything to prove his innocence. Because despite everything accusing him, Audrey’s eldest son (Charlotte Gacchio) declares out loud that he did not kill Albany, Lori’s boyfriend, a young nurse from Saint-Clair, with whom she had an affair for several weeks, in the most secret way. .

Although Jordan’s life is turned upside down and her loved ones could go to great lengths to help her, Maxime Leloux spoke to us about this very powerful new dramatic arc, which allows him to explore new aspects of Jordan and reveal an unsuspected character.

AlloCiné: The Roussel family came to Tomorrow Belongs to Us almost three years ago. Do you still enjoy playing Jordan?

Maxim Leloue : Completely. Although there are obviously ups and downs. Moments where the character and his family are more or less highlighted. Moments that are more exciting than others, moments of calm that are also very pleasant, taking a step forward, producing and working on other projects. But in any case, playing Jordan and his relationship with his family is always a pleasure, yes, of course.

In your opinion, why is the Russell family so popular in society?

I think the authors do a brilliant job of writing. We try to create a family that is most similar to the majority of people. This is still a family that arrived with an income that was admittedly less than most of the other characters in the series. Because Seth is a city, more or less tinged with the bourgeoisie. And we have a family there with the mother struggling a little bit, so I imagine it’s also nice to see that everyday life on screen.

It’s certainly also due to the real and deep chemistry between you on set, right?

Of course. We didn’t know that Charlotte Gachio, Juliet Mabilat and Dimitri Fouquet would get along so well, so it was a very nice surprise for us too. We obviously play on that and try to be as natural as possible. We are lucky to be in close contact with the authors, we meet them often, sometimes they give us the green light on certain expressions that they would like us to highlight a little more between us. Like the famous “piou piou”, this is something that was offered to us and we tried to bring it back as often as possible so that there is a real family identity.

Jordan has already been embroiled in significant intrigue involving his family or his relationship with Judith, but this is the first time you’re really at the center of a dramatic plot and your character’s future is being called into question. What was your reaction when you found out what the authors had in store for you?

At first I was very happy because Jordan has a lot to protect. We are at a real turning point for him, in his maturity, in his education. There’s a lot going on. There is definitely a before and after with this Jordan plot.

But, paradoxically, it is also interesting how this story affects other family members. It’s always nice to feel a little bit at the center of something. And it’s nice to see that everyone has a role to play, that everyone has a role to play. They all have different reactions. Which is also pretty awesome in most cases. When you get to know the characters, they don’t necessarily have the expected reactions.

It’s also great to see how well the rest of the family is served in this plot and everyone has something to say. Family in the broadest sense, because Damien is also very important in this ark, as you will soon discover.

In terms of gameplay, I imagine it also allows you to draw different, new, deeper things…

completely. And it also comes out of nowhere, that’s what’s good. This is where authors are very strong. Jordan’s past will resurface. We are going to build on the past, which is very present, which is there, which is moving forward, which is evolving.

I was able to talk to the writers, review a bit of what happened to Jordan in the past, and also discuss my interpretation of the character. What was it like when you came to the series, what motivated you when you came to Seth, what hurt Jordan when you arrived. I took all of that and took it to a higher level because we are still dealing with more impactful issues. The prison environment is a cut above. But it is still closely related to what happened before.

So are we about to discover something we didn’t suspect about Jordan?

And really. We will see it grow during this ark. This is where I had a lot of fun: you can really see his development noticeably. Some pretty disturbing things happen to him that don’t usually happen in a teenager’s life. But it happens sometimes, it is important to emphasize it. We will see him grow in his relationships with his family, friends and himself. We feel something moving inside it.

Jordan is accused of murder and sent to prison. How will he cope with this ordeal? Will he do everything to fight and prove his innocence, or will he give up when he sees that everyone blames him and only those close to him continue to believe in his innocence?

It will obviously go through several stages. Of course, he will go through difficult times. The beginning of prison is very difficult, so the support of your family is very important. That’s why it holds.

But, by nature, Jordan is still a fighter. He is someone who is not going to give up right away. Moreover, this is what harms him. We’ve been able to see this since Friday’s plot kicks off: He still has little bursts of blood, which doesn’t necessarily put him in a good position every time. But despite this, he will be quite a fighter, even if his moral integrity is seriously affected.

Rusel’s family will be very important to him. We will see that they are all very close and there is a lot of love between them. He thanks them.

There is a very beautiful scene this week where Damien tells the Philippines that he considers Jordan his son. How far will Damien go to help Jordan?

Damien will try with A plus B to prove to everyone that Jordan is innocent. He will feel the need to protect her as if she were his child, that’s for sure. And what I can say is that Damien is going to put himself in danger, familially, professionally. He will do anything to protect Jordan. During this arc, the family is going to get a big shake.

Can we assume that Jordan is withholding information from the police, perhaps to protect Lori? Or is it really stuck?

When we started working on this arch, I said to myself that Jordan was quite disturbingly honest, so I worked on it. He stands on his own truth. In the end, he doesn’t hide much from the police.

It is more at the level of his personal life, in relation to his family, that it is difficult. Jordan is a young man who is maturing, he experiences things, he has a nightlife that he does not share with his mother and brothers and sister. He has his own secret garden, although he was not used to its existence. So we’d say he’s hiding more from his family, about his personal life, than from the police.

Do you remember the scene from this arch? Who had trouble shooting at others?

All the scenes in this story had a fairly similar level of intensity due to this entry into the prison environment. In terms of intensity, we were on the same note, it wasn’t easy.

But Tomorrow Belongs to Us, every time I have important scenes, the common thread is that they are sequences with my fictional brother and sister. And there are two or three in this story that are very beautiful indeed. I’m thinking specifically of the scene in the middle of the story where Jack and Liz show their brotherly support to Jordan. It was difficult to play because there were strong issues and we wanted to answer them, we wanted to finish what was written.

And above all, in terms of playability, with Dimitri and Juliet, we love playing this brotherly love game, it’s always a lot of fun. It affects us from the bottom up. We have little tears, even between takes. Because it compels us, because it also reminds us of our understanding outside of the series. For me, the scenes with Dimitri and Juliet stand out in this story. As often happens in the series.

Do you have any projects outside of tomorrow’s installment? New songs with your musical duo. Fortunately, do we die of love?

I have music projects that aren’t necessarily related to my band, luckily we’re dying for love. Solo projects can be done. But I can’t say more. What’s certain is that music remains a very important element of my life, so we’re going to explore in that direction.

On the comedy side, I shot Face à face season 3, which will air next year. It was interesting to explore a different register on television. And I’m going to be in the theater this summer. So there are quite a few things. I think it’s important when you’re playing every day to eat a little bit here and there.
