A battle won by the Fire Nation. In the final episode of the series, Zhao’s (Ken Leung) army, backed by Fire Lord Ozai (Daniel Dae Kim), attacks the Water Tribe’s stronghold in the north, which is threatened with extinction. They can count on the help of the Avatar (Gordon Cormier), but also his friends Sokka (Ian Owsley) and Katara (Chiaventio). The Avatar eventually decides to sacrifice himself to the Water God to repel the enemy ships before being saved thanks to Yue’s intervention.
Avatar on Netflix: What’s the age gap between the live-action series cast and their characters?
If the Water Tribe emerges victorious from this epic battle – not without losing some brave warriors – we will discover that this battle was only a diversion. Ozai had only one idea in mind, to capture Omashu, one of the Earth Nation’s main strongholds. We also discover that the soldiers were led by Azula herself.
Sozin’s comet
Those who didn’t turn off the TV after this shot found a very interesting scene after the credits. We see the Lord in full discussion with the Great Sage (Francois Shaw) in front of a replica of the Earth. The latter announces the imminent arrival of Ozai’s Sozin comet. An event that happens only once in 100 years.
The latter took its name from Lord Sozin. The same one who launched an attack on the Air Nomads a century ago to make the Avatar disappear. This comet has the peculiarity of leaving a planet, which gives the Fire Nation unprecedented power (equivalent to 100 suns). A disproportionate power, which we witnessed in the first episode of the Netflix series, and which is necessary for them to gain an advantage over other populations.
star power
Stars play a very important role in the world of Avatar, some of them giving special powers to elemental masters. We saw this especially with the Water Tribe, which derives its power from the moon. When his spirit was killed by Zhao, they could no longer fight under his influence
So the return of Sozin’s comet does not bode well for Aang and the rest of his friends. If the latter doesn’t already know about this cosmic event, it will happen in Season 2Avatar…if it’s ordered by Netflix.
