Tonight on TV: You’ve never seen Clint Eastwood look so relaxed and good-looking

Released in theaters in 2019, the excellent feature film The Mule, directed and starring the legendary Clint Eastwood, tells the story of 80-year-old Earl Stone, who is in serious condition. Not only is he broke and alone, but his business is in danger of going under.

Then he gets a job that – apparently – only asks for the role of a driver. Except unbeknownst to him, he’s signed on as a drug courier for a Mexican cartel.

What is most incredible about this incredible testament road movie where A Eastwood Does Roublard make us laugh and move us? That’s because it’s inspired by a true story! Leo Sharp, a World War II veteran who in the 1980s became the Sinaloa Cartel’s oldest and most prolific drug carrier.

“The best mule in the history of the Sinaloa cartel was the one we least expected: a 90-year-old man traveling for work”– says screenwriter Nick Schenk. “They worshiped him, received him like a king and did whatever he wanted.”

“I read a New York Times article about the real boy that Earle was based on, and I thought it would be fun to play someone that age…actually say my age.”laugh Clint Eastwood.

“I like to think that I’m always observing, learning, and Earl is like that. The older you get, the more you realize you don’t know anything. So we keep moving forward.”

Strong and melancholic, funny and moving, a mule, which drew more than 1.8 million viewers to French cinemas, proof that Clint the Great is still a hit, benefits from a solid cast. Next to the legend, we find specifically Bradley Cooper and Alison Eastwood, whose daughter you know.
