The Paramount+ series is set after the Bolshevik Revolution and features the actor as an aristocrat trapped in a luxury hotel in Moscow
Paramount+ has released the trailer for “A Gentleman in Moscow,” a new miniseries starring Ewan McGregor (“Obi-Wan Kenobi”). The preview shows the actor living as a prisoner in a luxurious Moscow hotel at the beginning of the 20th century.
The actor’s character is Count Alexander Rostov, who discovers that his aristocratic past places him on the wrong side of history after the Bolshevik Revolution. But instead of sentencing him to death, the new Soviet regime confines him to the attic of the Grand Hotel Metropol in Moscow. From the top of his window, the marginalized count follows the changes and the passage of time in the outside world. But soon the world begins to keep him company, in the form of new guests and parties in the place, and his life takes a new direction, especially thanks to a girl who has a key that opens all the doors in the place.
In addition to McGregor, the cast also includes Mary Elizabeth Winstead (“Ahsoka”), Leah Harve (“Foundation”), Johnny Harris (“Troy: The Fall of a City”), Alexa Goodall (“The Lord of Chaos”)” ) and an exceptional cast.
The series is based on the novel of the same name by Amor Towles, adapted by Ben Vanstone (“Creatures Great and Small”) and directed by Sam Miller (“I May Destroy You”). The premiere will take place on March 29th.
