The U.S. spot currency closed 0.23% lower at 4.9347 reais on sale, a move that accompanied a sharp 0.5% decline in the index that compares the dollar to a basket of strong pairs. On B3, the front-month dollar futures contract fell 0.27% to 4.9445 reais on sale.
