Gentlemen: After the Netflix series, where should you see a Guy Ritchie movie?

Created, written, produced and partially directed by Guy Ritchie, The Gentlemen is a must-see new gangster series on Netflix. This eight-episode fiction is from Theo James, who portrays Eddie Horniman, an aristocrat who unexpectedly inherits his father’s vast fortune before discovering that he is part of a veritable cannabis empire.

Eddie tries to play dangerous organized crime figures in the UK who want their piece of the pie by playing his own game, but he gradually develops a taste for crime and gangster status.

The Gentlemen was a movie before the TV series

For this new series, the writer and director of Scams, Crimes and Botany and Snatch was inspired by one of his films, which AlloCiné viewers considered one of the best.

Released in 2020, this sophisticated and gripping feature film, which stars Matthew McConaughey, Charlie Hunnam, Henry Goulding, Jeremy Strong, Hugh Grant and Colin Farrell, tells the story of London drug lord Mickey Pearson, who leaves with the understanding that he could be put out of business.

Obviously, all the gangsters in the English capital plan to take over the business and take Mickey’s place. Between blackmail, betrayal, corruption and kidnappings… in this jungle where we no longer distinguish allies from enemies, there is only room for one king!
