It seems more and more Hallmark stars are leaving the net to jump on the GAC family bandwagon, but Polyclinic Student Ryan Paevey is not going anywhere. The actor had previously signed a multi-film deal with Crown Media Family Networks and recently spoke about the changing cinematic “equations” of the network.
Ryan Paevey played Detective Nathan West in the long-running soap opera. Polyclinic starting in 2013 before deciding to leave in January 2018. Since 2016 he has had a leading role in Hallmark films, with the most recent, Two tickets to heavenwhich will be released this weekend. With six years behind him in the network, the actor has spoken TV insider on the evolution of Hallmark and changing environments for the better:
It’s rare to find a place like Hallmark that constantly serves nice things. We are criticized for being a bit repetitive. The powers that be know it. Fundamental stories and equations begin to change. Become more inclusive by understanding a wider range of content and topics to better reflect real life. The core remains the same. The things we have should be able to smile a little more after seeing them.
Hallmark never runs out of original films, although some may have similar stories. However, as Ryan Paevey pointed out, this means consistent “feel-good” content and doesn’t mean the network can’t evolve over time.
In 2020, Hallmark caused a stir in the LGBTQ community. After the network aired its first movie featuring a gay wedding scene, they aired their first LGBTQ-driven Christmas movie, christmas houseProtagonist from bad Girls with Jonathan Bennett.
It looks like Ryan Paevey has no plans to leave Hallmark anytime soon, which is good for fans of the network, which is widely known and loved for its selection of holiday movies. Hopefully another Christmas movie is on your schedule, because you can never have too many, no matter what time of year. In the meantime, fans will only have to review his most recent film, which seems like the perfect choice for the summer.
Ryan Paevey isn’t the only Hallmark star to talk online after an avalanche of stars goes missing. Earlier this year, Lacey Chabert, who also recently signed with Hallmark, talked about the “most rewarding” part of working for Hallmark, pointing out the heartwarming and kind stories he receives when he meets people who love them.
Last month, Friday night lights Vet Aimeé Teegarden has signed her contract with Hallmark, which is also an exclusive general deal on several films. Even if it is not known how long the contract will last and how many films she will star in, it means that one less star will leave for GAC Family, at least for now. Maybe we could reunite Paevey, Teegarden and Chabert in the same movie?
