Tiggo 5x was the highlight with significant sales of the Sport version; Tiggo 7 Sport, which is already a hit in demand, has a wait of 45 days
Caoa Chery is once again growing in the Brazilian market. The Tiggo 5x Sport, which arrived mid-last year, has boosted sales for the automaker, which is a partnership between Brazilian company Caoa and Chinese company Chery.
With 6,799 cars registered between January and February, Caoa Chery grew by 159% compared to the first two months of 2023. At the time, sales were at a much lower level and only 2,623 cars were registered.
According to statistics, Caoa Chery retailed 3,329 cars in February this year, which corresponds to 2.1% of the market and a growth of 157%. In total over the two months, the Tiggo 5x Sport was the sales leader with 3,970 units, of which 2,303 were the Sport version.
Considering February alone, of the 1,991 Tiggo 5x sold, 1,167 were the Sport version. Therefore, Caoa Chery decided to double down and recently launched the Tiggo 7 Sport. Unlike the Tiggo 5x, which did not undergo technical changes, the Tiggo 7 Sport underwent an engine change, but the car maintained the good power of 150 HP.
The Tiggo 7 Sport is expected to further expand Caoa Chery’s sales in the SUV segment (in this case, in the C category, the same as the Jeep Compass, Toyota Corolla Cross and Volkswagen Taos). According to information obtained by Guia do Carro, the Tiggo 7 Sport is already booming in sales and has a waiting list, with delivery times of 45 days.
