The French Netflix series continues to win the hearts of international audiences. The latest: Furies, a muscular action series expertly directed by Marina Foys, Lina El Arabi and Mathieu Kasowitz.
This week, Furies took the top spot as the world’s most-watched non-English-language series with 8 million views and almost 50 million hours watched.
The figures, which according to the newsletter of Netflix & figures, almost tripled compared to the first week. This is the sixth-largest week-to-week increase for a new Netflix series released since June 2021.

The figures are worth considering
If Furies enjoys great international success, perhaps thanks to the work of Cédric Nicolas-Troian, a French director who spent much of his career in the United States, the series is still not at the level of its predecessors.
However, according to Netflix and the figures, this increase was actually based on a relatively low starting rate. It is far from the scores achieved by, for example, Lupine. But if we take the French Netflix series that came out in the last three years, like Braqueurs or Pax Massilia, Furies saw a big increase in the second week, which allowed it to surpass other series.
Perhaps if the thriller continues its momentum, it could become the most watched new series on the platform worldwide after June 2021.
Season 2 for Furies?
If Netflix hasn’t officially ordered a second season of Furies yet, these figures should probably convince the platform to greenlight it. Especially since the season ends with an open ending.
Lina and Selma are forced to follow the orders of Damocles, who has decided to rule Olympus. Will Fury agree to follow the orders of the same person? Answer in season 2.
