Moraes releases public statements from Bolsonaro and 26 others under investigation for coup plotting


The minister’s decision, this Friday the 15th, comes “in light of numerous journalistic publications with incomplete information” on the testimonies.




The Minister of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), Alexandre de Moraes, has removed the confidentiality of statements by former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) and other allies involved in the investigation into the attempted coup. The two-page decision states that “due to numerous journalistic publications with incomplete information on statements made to police authorities”, it makes the hearings public.

With the decision, the testimonies of key figures in the investigation are made public, such as former ministers General Augusto Heleno (Office for Institutional Security), Braga Netto (Civil Chamber), Anderson Torres (Justice and Public Security), former Navy commanders , of the Air Force and Army and the president of the PL, Valdemar Costa Neto.

In total, 27 testimonies were made public:
