After starring alongside Gal Gadot in the action film Agent Stone – released in August 2023 – actor Jamie Dornan is teaming up again with Netflix for a series called The Undertow. This project is an adaptation of Christopher Metcalf’s Gemini, a Norwegian fiction book released in 2019.
Two Jamie Dornans for the price of one
For the purposes of this series, Jamie Dornan will play twins Adam and Lee. The story follows the angst-ridden marriage of Adam and Nicola, played by Mackenzie Davis. The couple’s daily life changes when Adam’s twin brother Lee enters their lives. The husband does not know that his brother once had an affair with his wife. All too quickly, the past comes to destroy the present.
This remake seems to take a few liberties with the original version. In Brain, a wife accidentally kills her husband and manages to convince his twin brother to take his place.
Media Deadline reports that filming is expected to begin in the Highlands, a particularly cinematic mountainous region in Scotland, later this year.
Obviously, this is not the first time the actor has played twins. Recently, actress Rachel Weisz did this dangerous but exciting exercise in the TV series Faux Semblants, a remake of the David Cronenberg film, in which Jeremy Irons also played the brothers.
