The last triumph of the Tricolore occurred on 7 February. Since then there have been three draws, one defeat and elimination at Paulista
Synonymous with strength last year, MorumBIS has not been the same cauldron in the current season. After all, last Sunday (17th) the Tricolore lost against Novorizontino on penalties and was eliminated from the Paulista Championship. The early fall of the State Championship meant that the club went more than a month without winning in its own stadium.
The last time São Paulo won at MorumBIS happened on February 7, in a 3-0 win against Água Santa. Since then, the team has played four matches, with three draws and one defeat. Plus there is the elimination for Novorizontino, in the last match.
During this period, the Tricolore drew with RB Bragantino (2-2), Palmeiras (1-1) and Novorizontino (1-1). Furthermore, the team also lost 1-0 against Santos. In total, this season, there have been seven matches staged in the capital of Sao Paulo, but only three of these have been victories.
San Paolo hasn’t been this bad at Morumbis since 2021. That year, the team also experienced bad moments at the stadium. After all, from January 10th to February 19th, there were five duels without victories, with two defeats and three draws.
However, despite the negative phase, the fans have not stopped supporting the team. Moreover, this year Sao Paulo recorded an average of 45 thousand fans present at MorumBIS. It also boasts the best crowd in the Paulistão: in the classic against Palmeiras there were more than 55 thousand people present.
The next meeting at San Paolo
San Paolo, therefore, will return to the field only on April 4th. Thiago Carpini’s team will face Talleres in Córdoba in their debut in the Libertadores.
