The dollar accelerated its losses and closed below the 5 reais mark again on Wednesday, after the Federal Reserve kept its base rate unchanged and continued with its previous projection of cutting interest rates by a total by 0.75 percentage points this year.
The spot dollar closed 1.14% lower, at 4.9741 reais, after closing the previous two sessions above 5 reais. This Wednesday’s drop was the most intense since November 3 last year (-1.53%).
