The success of Peaky Blinders made its creator Stephen Knight one of the most popular screenwriters in Hollywood. Thus, despite the end of the series, the British author continues with projects, and in particular will sign an ambitious series produced by Netflix.
This program called Guinness House takes a look at the history of the famous Irish beer. Created in 1759 by brewer Arthur Guinness, this drink is now among the most famous beers in the world, with its famous black color and caffeinated taste.
“The Guinness dynasty is known around the world. Wealth, poverty, power, influence and tragic elements and so many elements necessary to create an exciting mural to follow.” Stephen Knight said in an official press release.
A series of heritage in Vienna?
However, the series will not return to the invention of beer. The story takes place several decades later, in 1868, after the death of Benjamin Guinness. The empire left behind by the Irish benefactor destroys his four heirs and sparks a rivalry worthy of the series’ legacy. The shooting date has not been announced yet, as the writing of the show has barely begun.
We remind you that Stephen Knight’s name will appear this year in the credits of Maria Callas’ biography of Angelina Jolie, whose script he wrote. The latter is also involved in the Peaky Blinders film project, as well as writing a Star Wars feature film centered around the character of Rey Skywalker.
