Is ‘Euphoria’ canceled?
Jordan Ruimy, editor-in-chief of “World of Reel,” posted the rumor on March 24 that has fans of the show worried:
“I’ve heard that the planned third season of Sam Levinson’s ‘Euphoria’ has been completely scrapped.[…] On Friday, the cast were told they could free up their schedule for other projects, […] “The plan to bring them all together for a third and final season has clearly failed,” he told the site.
According to their information, the “plan” was to shoot the third season of “Euphoria” this summer, but that “will no longer happen.”
After this edition aired, HBO assured that, along with “Euphoria” creator Sam Levinson, they “remain committed to making a great third season,” however, there are currently no plans to record.
“In the meantime, we are allowing our highly sought-after cast to pursue other opportunities,” a spokesperson for the production company said.
The insider stated that the scripts for the third season are in progress.
What the cast of ‘Euphoria’ said about season three
It must be remembered that, until a few weeks ago, the available details about the series were that it was still in development.
Last March, on March 12, for example, Sydney Sweeney said in an interview with “MTV” that she was preparing “to return to ‘Euphoria,'” although she did not want to mention whether she had already read the scripts for a third season.
At the end of February, “GQ” published an interview with Colman Domingo, in which the actor claimed that the delay in a new script for the series was that Sam Levinson, its creator, is “a person who writes and rewrites, writes and rewrites. Again because he’s figuring out what’s important”: ‘All I can tell you is that he’s very interested in the existential question of who we are now. Our souls. That’s what he wants to find out with the third season.”
Additionally, in mid-January, Casey Bloys, president and CEO of HBO and Max Content, told Deadline that Levinson was “busy writing” and had delivered three scripts.
Of course, he then emphasized that he had no recording date since there are “very busy agendas to align”.
Is there a release date for ‘Euphoria’ season 3?
In November 2023, HBO announced that the next installment of the series would arrive in 2025, although, due to the lack of a recording date, this could be delayed.
We must remember that some members of the cast of ‘Euphoria’ such as Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney or Colman Domingo have achieved stardom, so they have many projects in the works.
