The third season of “Brigerton” will focus on the love story of Penelope and Colin (although this conflicts with the chronological order of the books on which the plot is based). The focus on the couple isn’t the only new thing in the next episode: we tell you who is and who won’t be back in the Netflix series.
‘Brigerton 3’ Is Leaving Out Actors From Past Seasons, Why?
Fans of the hit Netflix series will have to say goodbye to the characters of Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor), Simon Basset (Regé-Jean Page) and Edwina Sharma (Charitra Chandran), who will not appear in this new installment (presumably, nor in the rest of the series).
This is due to the narrative structure of “Bridgerton”. From the Julia Quinn books, each installment focuses on some of the children in the family, so the others are downplayed.
In season 2, the absence of Regé-Jean Page had already become apparent, although Phoebe Dynevor returned for some episodes.
On her part, Charitra Chandran would have no reason to reprise the role of Kate Sharma’s younger sister since she is not mentioned again in the books after her marriage to Anthony.
While the trailer of ‘Bridgerton’ season 3 gave us a glimpse of Jonathan Bailey and Simone Ashley in their roles, it can be expected that ‘Kanthony’ will have a supporting role in this new installment.
‘Brigerton’ adds new actors to its Season 3 cast
Another actress who will not be returning to ‘Brigerton’ in season three is Ruby Stokes, who, due to other professional commitments, left the role of Francesca in the hands of Hannah Dood.
The cast of the series will have three more new faces: Daniel Francis will play Marcus Anderson, a charismatic new member of high society; James Foone stars as Harry Dankworth, a not-so-smart but rich and stylish heartthrob, and Sam Phillips, who will play Lord Debling, Penelope’s new suitor. All these characters will compete to win the heart of the author of “Lady Whistledown”, so Colin will have to prove that he is the one who deserves her the most.
The rest of the cast of ‘Bridgerton 3’
Aside from the aforementioned drops and additions, most of the cast of the Netflix series remains the same:
- Nicola Coughlan plays Penelope
- Luke Newton plays Colin
- Claudia Jessie plays Eloise
- Luke Thompson plays Benedict Bridgerton
- Ruth Gemmell plays Violet Bridgerton
- Florence Hunt plays Hyacinth Bridgerton
- Will Tilston plays Gregory Bridgerton
- Golda Rosheuvel plays Queen Charlotte
- Adjoa Andoh plays Lady Danbury
- Harriet Cains plays Philipa Featherington
- Bessie Carter plays Prudence Featherington
- Jessica Madsen plays Cressida Cowper
- Polly Walker plays Portia Featherington
When does ‘Bridgerton’ season 3 premiere?
The third season of the Bridgerton series is scheduled to arrive in two parts. The first part will premiere on May 16, 2024, while the second part will be available on Netflix from June 13, 2024.
